021 . FRANCOIS

Most of the world’s riders are welcoming April’s warmer weather and dry road here in Minnesota… Francois, wrapped in his Belstaff jacket with his 1955 Triumph T-100 at his side, is still waiting for the snow to stop. Francois an architect by trade recently started working on bikes, his first project the T-100 has been fully restored by his own hands. It’s immaculate.

020 . DAVE

The ultimate maker. Outside Minneapolis by 30 minutes past the old dirt track Raceway is a garage of wonders. Chainsaw carved roosters with a steam-bent-wood tail, handmade trains complete with 150 feet of custom laid track in the yard, and a beautifully rare Triumph Trophy right side shift… he’s a do all engineer to the max. A fascinating character with the perfect balance of creativity and midwest elbow grease. Dave spends his thursday evenings with our old pal Mike Haeg, whittling and shooting the breeze - brewing up plans for summer adventures to come.

019 . JIM

Firewood, Beer, and the long stare. A regular routine for this man. Jim’s bonne has some sweet mods, my favorite is the old BMW headlight retrofitted on the front end. It’s his first bike after taking a 10 year hiatus from riding.

018 . MEL & MARK

When Mel met Mark, Mark didn’t ride. Didn’t take long for her to get him hooked. Now Mark rides. A Guzzi V7 and a Bonne complete with a David Bowie sticker for good measure. (What else would a proud englishman ride?) Not a bad garage to hang out and have a cup of tea in over the long winter.

017 . CHRISTIAN

This German born motorcyclist is lucky enough to work at a place that allows him plenty of space and warmth to spend the long winters restoring this old CB350 and his coveted CB650. The CB650 is a real beauty.

016 . STEVE WEIGEL

When Steve isn’t hard at work out on the road touring the country and throwing down behind a set of drums (200 shows a year), he spends his time relaxing in the warmth of his living room. After renovating this mid-century home himself, he set to work on this handsome Triumph Thruxton, fully cafe’d and ready for spring.

015 . RICK & ABI

This young couple is more than ready for the snow to melt, so they can hit the road on their custom machines. Abi and her friends have an all girls riding group called Stilettos on Steel. Rick is quite the craftsman his custom paint work on both bikes its beautifully executed right here in their garage.

014 . BARB & JOHN

Retired teacher turned theater Director Barb, AKA Miss HT and her husband John in their sweet little shop where they keep their two Harley’s warm.

013 . HEATHER & PETE

Do Heather and Pete think about riding during the winter? Only every time they park the car in the garage… Don’t hit the bikes!

012 . TODD

Outside the twin cities is a small unsuspecting community, inside that small unsuspecting community is an unsuspecting two car garage. You could drive past this garage everyday for 20 years and never expect to see whats inside. An immaculately organized operating room dedicated to italian engineering. Riders from all over the country ship their bikes to Todd to have them setup the right way. As an ex AMA racer and team mechanic Todd is well… The Man when it comes to italian machines on two wheels.

011 . DANIELE

Daniele was born in Italy, but is now a full blooded hockey playing Minnesotan, and when he’s not on the ice or hanging out with his two short haired cats, he’s wrenching on this fine piece of German engineering.

010 . STEVE TENEBRINI

On June 21st of 2013 the Summer Solstice Storm blew through Minneapolis. Steve was working on his Bonneville in the garage, when the wind picked up eventually reaching 50+mph, he decided to take a break and head inside. Two minutes later he heard a loud crash. He went to the window to find a huge tree laying on top of his garage. So this winter, sadly, the Bonne slept outside in the snow.

009 . BILL

When Bill was married he and his wife were making their exit from the wedding on board his Moto Guzzi Ambassador when, in typical vintage fashion, it wouldn’t start. So, Bill being a true man of the machine, got a running start and bump started the bugger side saddle style. Off they road to a life of adventure. From that day on she said Bill could buy and sell whatever he wanted, but the Guzzi stays.

008 . NICK & JOHN

These guys build to ride, and from what I understand, they can ride like hell. They’ll be heading to Japan soon to compete in a vintage motocross race.

007 . STEVE

In exchange for the heated storage of his two beautiful machines, Steve’s in-laws only ask that he take care of their chickens when they go out of town.

006 . MATT & JOSH

These two spend the winter comfortably waiting. Beer in hand.

005 . ERIC

Eric’s Triumph Scrambler spends the long winter tucked in tight under his apartment building.

004 . MIKE OLSON

Mike grew up on the iron range riding dirt bikes, now he spends the winters breathing life back into these old Honda’s.

003 . MIKE & TOM

Mike & Tom Haeg father and son, spend their wednesday evenings wrenching on an old Cushman. Tom taught Mike a lot about life through these tools and machines. You can feel the pride and happiness, the joy of still spending time with his son enjoying the simple pleasure of turning a wrench.

002 . DAVID

David spends more than a few smoke breaks throughout the winter yearning for the grip of the throttle.

001 . TODD

An ex-pro BMX rider, two wheels are second nature for this peaceful warrior. With four projects in motion, Todd keeps busy through the deep freeze. Some real creativity going on in this garage from the custom paint jobs to seats made from old skateboard decks and old leather jackets, oh yeah and BMX handle bars on his CB350 - Todd is more than just a rider.
